What Are Show Me Tell Me Questions?

At the start of your practical driving test, the examiner will ask you two vehicle safety questions - one "Tell Me" question before you start driving, and one "Show Me" question while you're driving.

"Tell Me" questions require you to explain how you would carry out a safety check on the vehicle. You'll answer these before you start driving.

"Show Me" questions require you to demonstrate how you would carry out a safety task while driving. These are designed to be done safely while on the move.

Getting one or both questions wrong will result in one driving fault (minor). While this won't fail you on its own, it's best to know these thoroughly as every fault counts towards your overall score.

"I make sure all my students are confident with the Show Me Tell Me questions well before their test. We practice these throughout your lessons so they become second nature."
